  • Managing pitfalls

A review of the (11) current international trade terms commonly used in commercial transactions. This class is for persons who use trade terms for buying, selling and transporting of goods. Those who should attend are buyers, sellers, shipping, logistics, legal and contracts reviewers.

Attendees will learn the basics of Incoterms and how to work within the terms. You will also gain an understanding of the requirements, advantages and pitfalls of the most used Incoterms.

May 24th —“Advanced Incoterms

 

  • Review and update on the new Incoterms
  • Learn how to negotiate with Incoterms
  • Avoiding liability and losses in Incoterms.

A deep dive in the most common Incoterms used in commercial transactions, including how to use Incoterms in negotiating or leveraging purchases and sales, and transportation of goods. Those who should attend are contract managers, those who determine logistics needs, providers of logistics, and those who buy and sell goods.

Attendees will learn how to maneuver through the web of specific requirements stated in the most common Incoterms.  Attendees will gain a complete understanding on how to negotiate sales and purchases when using Incoterms as a negotiation tool.

June 7th — “ITAR and BIS Management”

  • Review export rules and regulations
  • Teams will create best in class processes
  • Learn shortcuts in license management

This class will cover the tools necessary for efficient and compliant management of your export programs. We will dive into the regulations and construct decision trees for licensing, CJs and rulings. We will also review Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements and Technical Control Plans that will work for you.

Attendees will learn how to construct export agreements and how to efficiently manage their export licensing business.

June 19th —“Antiboycott and Antibribery

 

  • Review the FCPA and Boycott rules
  • Review current actions and examples of cases
  • Teams will work on each scenario in order to learn what and when to disclose

This class will review the regulations behind each of these acts and how to work with the framework.

Attendees will gain a better understanding of each of these laws and how to manage within their framework. Each student will learn how to set up controls within their organization, how to manage forwarders and other providers, and how to document your process and controls.
