Sue-Ann Linnemann

Sue-Ann Linnemann recently retired from U.S. Customs & Border Protection after 34 years of service. She is currently a Trade Advisor for Braumiller Schulz LLP.


She began her career in Nogales, Arizona and progressed through several positions including Import Specialist, Field National Import Specialist, and Supervisory Import Specialist. In 1993 she was promoted to the position of Assistant District Director in Dallas. That promotion coincided with the passage of the NAFTA and Mod Act regulations. Sue-Ann assumed a leadership role in educating the public regarding the Acts, and teaching the provisions of these programs in North Texas and at several national conferences, including MexCon, Economist Magazine, and others.


In 1998 she transferred to the Office of International Trade and was instrumental in the development of first the Information Technology and then the Agriculture Strategic Plans for the agency. During her tenure, she was instrumental in developing national trade policies and conducting trade analysis.


In 2005 she was named the Assistant Port Director for the Area Port of Dallas which includes Amarillo, Lubbock, and Midland in West Texas, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, and Austin and San Antonio. She has been active in the development of new User Fee Airports and Foreign-Trade Zones.


Sue is a past president of the Dallas chapter of the Organization of Women in International Trade, has written several articles for trade magazines, and was featured in an issue of the Journal of Commerce highlighting women in international trade. She has been a distinguished speaker at many businesses, professional organizations, industry associations and training programs on topics including NAFTA, C-TPAT, Foreign Trade Zones and Classification and Valuation.
